10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU - OUTLINE

Classic teen comedy, and a great appetizer before reading Easy A. This script is from a simpler time, but it's really not very different than Easy A. They're both part of the very small sub genre of teen comedies that are based on classic literature.

1. Meet Kat. She hates the other girls. Is not a prom poster kind of kid.
2. Meet Cameron and Miss Perky
3. Meet Patrick and Miss Perky
4. Cam meets Michael. Mike introduces him to all the crews at school, including beautiful BIANCA, Kat’s sister.
5. Kat gets kicked out of class for being a know it all. We also meet Joey, the asshole.
6. Miss Perky scolds Kat. Tells her to be less bitchy.
7. Cameron tells Michael he’s gonna get Bianca. 
8. Cam learns that Kat and B are sisters. 
9. Dad says B can date as soon as Kat does.
10. Cam tells B he’ll find a guy for Kat so he can date B.
11. Cam interviews guys for Kat. None of them want her.
12. Cam decides the maniac patrick would be a good fit (during frog dissecting scene).
13. Cam tries to talk to Patrick. Patrick blows him off.
14. Mike and Cam scheme on how they can get Patrick to date Kat. Realize they need money, and therefore a backer.
15. Mike gets Asshole Joey in on the idea, with the plan that Cam would still get a shot at B anyway.
16. Joey gives Patrick 50 bucks to take Kat out.
17. Pat asks Kat out. She says no. 
18. Cam and Michael doubt their plan.
19. Kat and B at home, arguing about how they think the other should change. Reveal: B wearing dead mom’s pearls.
20. Pat tries again with Kat. Strike out. Kat backs into Joey’s car b/c he blocks her in.
21. Dad scolds Kat about the car thing. Bianca is pissed too. Dad wonders if she’s acting out b/c she wants to go to Sarah Lawrence and he said no.
22. Joey threatens Pat. Pat demands more money per date. Gets it.
23. Cam and Mike reveal themselves to Pat. Say they wanna help him. Set up a party at a nerd’s house for Pat to take Kat to.
24. Joey flirts with Bianca. They will both be going to nerd party this Friday.
25. Cam recruits Bianca. Find out what Kat wants in a guy so the set up works better.
26. Cam and Bianca go through Kat’s shit at home. 
27. Mike and Cam present Pat with the info on Kat. Tell him to take her to see her favorite band tomorrow night.
28. Pat “runs into” Kat at the show. Asks her out. She doesn’t say yes but it’s hopeful.
29. Bianca convinces Kat to go to party. Then Pat surprises Kat by arriving to pick her up.
30. Mike and Cam get ready for the party together.
31. Establishing of the nerd’s house.
32. In the house, Bogie the Nerd thinks it’s a wine and cheese gathering then the door rings and THE PARTIERS stream in.
33. Kat and Bianca argue at party. Kat looks like she might get too drunk. Mike scares some girl.
34. Cam gets shot down by Bianca in favor of Joey.
35. Joey talks to Bianca. He’s boring and too into himself.
36. LATER Bianca sees Cameron and turns away to avoid him. He’s not happy about it.
37. LATER Kat is wasted. Pat starts to take care of her.
38. OUTSIDE Pat and Kat. Cam approaches, having given up, but Pat spurns him on. Don’t give up on Bianca so easy dude.
39. Pat takes care of Kat. Starts to have meaningful talk. Then she vomits on his feet.
40. Bianca turns Joey down for a ride to the next party. Instead asks Cam for a ride home, even though he’s annoyed at her for using him to get to Joey. 
41. Kat and Pat almost kiss. Then he offends her and she storms away.
42. Cam tells Bianca off. She kisses him.
43. Kids tease Kat for being drunk and dancing at party.
44. Mike connects with Kat’s friend Mandella over Shakespeare. Then moves to get the scoop from her on what happened with Pat and Kat.
45. Pat now wants Kat but she’s annoyed at him. Mike and Cam talk it through with him. 
46. Mandela and Kat argue about the prom. Mandella wants to go and is tired of the charade a little.
47. Joey and Bianca talk prom. Joey wants to go with B, but B can’t go unless Kat does. Joey says he’s taking car of it.
48. Joey gives Pat three undo to take Kat to prom.
49. Pat talks to Kat at bookstore. She’s mean to him.
50. Pat reports the news to Mike and Cam. Kat is pissed at him. 
51. Cam encourages Pat to put his pride away and go after Kat better. She’s hurt cuz he rejected the kiss. Pat has to fix that.
52. Pat gets the marching band to play a song for Kat. 
53. Kat helps Pat escape from detention.
54. Pat and Kat on a pedal boat on a date. 
55. Pat and Kat play paintball. 
56. Pat tries to pressure her into prom. She says no. She’s suspicious.
57. Bianca yells at Cam, annoyed that he hasn’t asked her out yet.
58. Mike asks Mandella to the prom.
59. Walter tells Bianco no prom.
60. Kat reveals she fucked Joey in 9th and he was a dick and that’s why she wants Bianca to stay away. Bianca gets mad.
61. Kat goes to prom so Bianca gets to go too.
62. Pat and Kat compliment each other at prom. 
63. Joey arrives to pick Bianca up but Dad slams door in his face.
64. Pat and Kat enter prom and see Cam and B together it’s cute.
65. Mike and Mandella meet up.
66. Kat’s fave singer plays at prom cuz Pat set it up. He’s a good guy.
67. B learns that Joey had a bet that he was gonna nail her that night.
68. Joey reveals to Kat about the bet, ‘cuz he’s annoyed that Cam came with B and not him. Kat storms away.
69. Joey attacks Cam. Bianca breaks Joey’s nose.
70. Kat tells Pat off.
71. Walter agrees to let Kat go to Sarah Lawrence.
72. Kat reads a poem about not hating Pat. She cries when she reads it.
73. Kat finds a guitar in her car. Pat used the money to buy it. They kiss.
74. There’s a band playing on the roof.
