Don't remember much about this one. Must have read it a few years ago. Don't have time to think back on it right now, but definitely will in the future. Written by Diablo Cody (so probably it's great) EXT. CITY STREET - DAY
Alex and Amy are a cute couple. INT. SOUTH SIDE TAVERN - DAY Everyone in there turns on Amy, shaming her for having such a young boyfriend. INT. ALEX & AMY’S APARTMENT (BEDROOM) - NIGHT That last scene was a nightmare. INT. ALEX & AMY’S APARTMENT - DAY We learn that Alex’s parents are not into the relationship. INT. SCUDDY’S ON ARCHER - NIGHT Amy’s best friend thinks she’s basically a statutory rapist. We learn that this is not uncommon behavior for Amy. INT. ALEX & AMY’S APARTMENT - NIGHT Alex’s best friend, Pris, hates Amy. It seems no one approves of this relationship. EXT. CARDOZO & CLIFT - DAY (TO ESTABLISH) Alex and Amy are co-workers. More judgment from people. Plus, we learn Amy has a history with her boss, who has now invited himself to their house warming. INT. EL TRAIN - EVENING Alex and Amy reconcile on the Hal coming to the party thing. Make a plan to use the party to bring their friends together. INT. ALEX & AMY’S APARTMENT (BEDROOM) - NIGHT Amy and her friend Sierra get ready for the party. Amy is self-conscious about clothes and her age. INT. ALEX & AMY’S APARTMENT (KITCHEN) - SAME The twenties and the thirties spar in the kitchen. It’s catty. INT. ALEX & AMY’S APARTMENT (LIVING ROOM) - SAME Hal shows up with a 19 year old fiancé named Dixie. INT. ALEX & AMY’S APARTMENT (LIVING ROOM) - AN HOUR LATER Alex charms Hal and Dixie. Amy is left out. Then Sierra charms some other milennials. Amy looks on. INT. ALEX AND AMY’S APARTMENT (LIVING ROOM) - NIGHT Alex got the promotion Amy wanted. She is angry, but then supportive. INT. CARDOZO & CLIFT - DAY It’s tense. The power dynamics have shifted at work. INT. ALEX AND AMY’S APARTMENT - NIGHT Alex and Amy play video games. They’re actually getting along well, despite the work tension. But then Hal calls, and Amy is left hanging with female blue balls. EPISODE OUT Alex is on the phone. Amy pantomimes suicide behind him. GENERAL THOUGHTS AND EXCERPTS... ALEX PROTKO and AMY MOYNIHAN are having the BEST DATE EVER. Amy is an adorably sloppy tomboy in a Chicago Bears T-shirt and grimy Chuck Taylors. Alex looks like a J. Crew model, only cleaner. Despite their stylistic differences, they’re clearly infatuated with each other. They walk down the street, arms draped around each other, laughing at some private joke. We FREEZE on their joy. Alex’s best friend PRIS is sulking on the couch as they watch a movie. She’s in her early 20s-- a brilliant, moody girl with a chip on her shoulder. Pris is drinking a pre-party glass of wine in the kitchen with Alex’s other best friend CORY. Cory is in his early 20s-- a fussy, twee little who looks (and acts) like he’s seen to many Wes Anderson movies. Pris is dressed very nicely in a dress that happens to have cap sleeves. Nice subtle indication of the passage of time… Alex and Amy, still in their work clothes, are playing X-Box in the living room. Nice, easy and breezy action writing: Amy enters the office, carrying a large Frappucino and wearing her best attempt at professional garb. It’s all a little too short, tight and disheveled.

NOTEThese outlines are not polished and they are not politically correct. They are bare bones and often do no justice to the script or the writers of said script. Posting the outlines here so they can be easily referenced when working on new pilots. Also thought they might be helpful to other writers out there. Archives
