Haven't used this a ton, but I'm moving stuff from old computer to new computer. Figured I'd put it here so we'd have it to reference. Next page. Script-CAA Pitch Sheet
1. Personal stories and connection to the idea. A. Networks are most seduced by feeling a creator's personal connection to the series she is trying to create 2.Themes and concepts A. What is the world of the show/what is the show about? B. What are you saying with the show? 3. Give an anecdote that gets people to understand the potential of the series. This could be a teaser or a portion of the pilot that really helps show the world, style and tone of the show and the main character. 4. Characters in the series. A. Describe the main 3 or 4 and their respective relationships, particularly how they relate to our heroine. B. Each character should have a good story to describe him/her. This helps prevent the character portion from being too much of a laundry list. 5. Tone of the show. A. Discuss examples of what is similar tonally- eg THE GREAT ESCAPE, HUSBANDS AND WIVES, THE SHINING, etc. Discuss pacing, type of humor, look and feel.....etc. 6. Week to week A. What is the episodic nature of the show. What happens each week. eg, in SOPRANOS, Tony is trying to manage his professional family and his personal family while muddling through his anxiety/mid-life crisis. B. Major and minor stories each week, why and how the characters will be together.

NOTEThese outlines are not polished and they are not politically correct. They are bare bones and often do no justice to the script or the writers of said script. Posting the outlines here so they can be easily referenced when working on new pilots. Also thought they might be helpful to other writers out there. Archives
