Cristela - Pilot Outline

This show has a special place in my heart because Granny loved it. The pilot is a good example of a strong multi-cam. Simple, quick, but with good heart.

ACT ONE: p.1-17

• Meet Cristela and her family. Big point: She’s going for an internship interview but her family really wants her to start paying rent.
• Cristela meets the kinda racist white girl and the jew guy she thinks is cute.
• ACT OUT: Her interview is next…

 
ACT TWO: p. 18-30
 

• Cristela bombs the interview. She blasted the owner of the Cowboys but the boss is that guy’s personal friend!
• She comes home and annoying neighbor type guy Alberto is there. Then she learns that something’s up with brother in law outside.
• The BIL is mad that Cristela helped her niece lie. Said she was a cheer girl but was really playing soccer and got hurt. It gets resolved, but then Cristela asks her sister for a job at the call center. Confesses that the interview sucked.
• ACT OUT: Cristela asks for call center job.

 
ACT THREE: p. 31-44

• Cris is ready for call center, but then she gets a call from the law firm…!
• She gets the job. It’s a long scene.
  • She then gets a call from her sister but handles it.
  • Then she calls up some business pretending to be a lawyer repping her BIL. Gets him paid for a contracting job he did a while back basically.
• Back at home: Cristela makes up with her sister and BIL. They both support her now. Same deal with her mom.

 
TAG: p.45

• The family enjoys football together. Mexcian-American Tony Romo throws for a TD.
