Kevin From Work - Pilot Outline

This is an example of a sweet romantic comedy that has a pretty fast paced story. Story is told wit h some time jumps and it handles that well. It's been a long time since we've read this but I remember it pretty well. Probably because it puts Kevin in a relatable predicament.

• We meet Kevin, trying to get something from the trash
• 3 DAYS EARLIER: Kevin at the gym in his office building, celelbreating with Brian (friend/trainer) that he got the job in Italy
• We see Kevin’s horrible job as he describes how he gets to leave
• We learn that AUDREY is the only thing he’s gonna miss about shitty work

 
Act One

• We learn that Kevin’s sister is moving in to his place. And she’s happy he’s not gonna be there anymore. She’s annoying.
• We see Kevin say bye to his boss
• We see Kev get invited to a party going away for himself. Says yes, even though Audrey won’t be there.
• Audrey shows up to party, but her shitty bf is there.
• Kev tries to tell her how he feels but the BF gets in the way
• Kev drunkenly calls Audrey. We don’t see the content of the call.
• Next morning, Roxie the Annoying Sister arrives. Kev learns his DREAM JOB was cancelled. He has to stay here.

 
Act two

• Kev realizes he sent Audrey a letter decalaring his love
• Kev tries to get the mail out o the box (caught up to opening scene)
• Kev falls asleep and misses it when the mail man comes
• Kev goes to post office. They are gonna help but then oh no his car is getting towed.
• Kev gets a shittier mail person after rushing inside and she won’t help him
• Kev tries to get his job back but it doesn’t look definite his boss is a little nutty.
• The guy shows up for his car that he bought from Kev but Kev doesn’t have it cuz it got towed.
• Audrey confronts Kevin cuz shitty BF suspects Kevin likes her, so Kevin rushes out. He’s gotta get that letter before it gets to Brock!

 
ACT THREE

• Kevin at Audreys trying to get the mail and the crazy car guy shows up and slams Kevins head into mailboxes cuz kev doesn’t have car yet
• Kevin hooks up with Audreys roommie to make his way into the aprtment
• Audrey comes home and sees that he hooked up with her roomie!
• Back at work, kev gets the shitty account hta no one wanted but at least he has his job back
• We hear the letter VO as Audrey reads it and Kevin gets back to work
• Then they sit down and look at their shared wall. Has life changed?
