RESTAURANT: Christy is crying and upset at work as a waitress. We don’t learn anything about her until page four. RESTAURANT KITCHEN: Christy is reprimanded for crying on the job. She gives her excuses (blames Mom). Then she yells at an old lady for ratting her out about the crying. ACT ONE CAR: Christy listens to self help. Spots a TEEN BOY climbing out the window. LIVING ROOM: Christy warns her daughter not to get pregnant as a teen like she did. BEDROOM: Christy puts her son to bed. He guilts her about going to his talent show tomorrow. FRONT DOOR: Christy’s boss Gabriel shows up and they kiss. She asks for an hour off to go to the talent show tomorrow and boss says yes. SCHOOL: Christy gets there. Learns that there is no talent show today. KID’S CLASSROOM: She yells at kid for getting the day wrong. Exits. “I need a drink.” AA MEETING: Christy explains how her mom is the root of her problems. We get some exposition about how her mom was shitty. She sits down. Her Mom BONNIE is right there in the audience. “Uch. Hi Mom.” END OF ACT ONE ACT TWO DINER: Bonnie and Christy have lunch. Bonnie reveals that she’s in contact with Christy’s daughter Violet (who is on a bad path). She also says she forgives Christy, which pisses Christy off. Christy storms out, leaving her mom there alone. WORK: Christy with Gabriel. Then Gabriel’s wife shows up. Christy quietly blames her mom after they leave. “I don’t know how but this is my mother’s fault.” LIVING ROOM: Christy argues with her baby daddy about child support. Then her daughter’s BF shows up and she gets mad. Daughter says “Why should I forgive my mom when you can’t forgive yours?” Then Christy calls her mom and forgives her, but the daughter sees through it (so this is not resolved). END OF ACT 2 TAG KITCHEN: Christy comes home from work. Bonnie is there with her kids. She made hot dinner. Christy tries to get her mom to apologize but her mom won’t. Then the waiter from their lunch together comes and picks Bonnie up for a date. END OF SHOW
