Step Brothers - Outline

This is the outline of the first 35 pages. They're amazing. Should probably outline the rest at some point. This movie is funny.

• the parents meet
• 4 months later: they get married and tell us about their sons living with them in the wedding speeches.
• Dad and Dale argue about it. Intercut with Brennan and Mom arguing about it in the car ride over.
• Mom and Brennan arrive. The guys meet but Brennan gets scared and jumps in the car and peels out.
• LATER the mom convinces brennan to come in by offering him chicken nuggets.
• LATER the parents and step brothers have dinner together. Step bros are competitive and weird. IMPORTANT SCENE.
• LATER will shows john reilly his drum room and tells him he better not touch his drums. IMPORTANT SCENE.
• The parents talk about why each of their kids is so fucking stupid and lives with them. IMPORTANT SCENE.
• NEXT MORNING: brennan stays home and plays on the forbidden drum set. Meanwhile dale tries to go get a job and big-time fails.
• Dale comes home. Knows his set was tampered with.
• The guys get in a wrestle match over the drumset.
• Nancy gets a call at work from a neihbor… There’s some kind of incident at her house.
• Nancy gets there and the fight is on the front lawn.
• The dad gets a call at the hospital. Has to leave because there’s “a savage fight going on at my house.”
• The guys knock each other out
• The parents tell them they have to leave in 8 weeks and also tell them no TV and also say go get rest I don’t want you to embarrass us when your big brother comes soon.
• The guys sleep eat and it’s a fucking mess. (NOTE THIS IS THE FIRST THING THAT’S UNIFIED THEM)
• Parents next morning discover the mess. Not good.
• Brendan shoots awake and realizes his asshold brother is coming that night with his family.
• MEET THE FAMILY as they drive towards the dinner. They are singing and fucking insane.
• AT THE HOUSE the parents hurry out as the asshole brother pulls in.
• Dale freaks out at dinner b/c the brother is an a-hole. Brennan is conspiculously absent during this dinner.
• The guys bond in a tree fort. They both hate the brother. The brother shows up and is horrible. Dale punches him in the face.
