This was a CBS show that needed more love. It was solid, and so was the pilot. \

Written by Greg Garcia
ACT ONE: p.1-23

  • Ray talks Nathan into inviting some girls over that night. Getting back on horse after divorce. We also see Nathan is newscaster and Ray is his camera guy.
  • Nate goes to see his sister and her family at home. They have no money apparently. Then  his sister gets a call from their mom: They have problems with flooding so they’re coming back to stay up there. We learn that Nathan is hiding his divorce from his parents.
  • Nathan’s parents show up at his place. They get in a fight with Debbie so he’s stuck with them.
  • They are difficult about bottled water.
  • They discover that Nathan’s supposed wife is not there. Learn about divorce. Decide to split up themselves.
  • ACT OUT: Nate’s parents are no longer together.

ACT TWO: p.24-44
  • Nate doesn’t wanna live with his mom. She is very difficult.
  • Debbie calls: She’s struggling with the dad. Nate’s gotta come over here.
  • Nathan goes over there. Argues with Debbie about what to do. They do not reach a conclusion.
  • Nathan back with his mom. She is cramping is style. He’s gonna try to have his party anyways.
  • Debbie is still struggling at her place with her mom
  • Nate’s mom wanders out in a sleeping pill stupor and messes with his party and his chances of getting laid.
  • It’s still crazy at debbie’s with her kooky dad.
  • Back with nate, his mom has a freak out about being alone so he dances with her instead of the girl he was chasing and the girl leaves.

    NOTE

These outlines are not polished and they are not politically correct. They are bare bones and often do no justice to the script or the writers of said script. Posting the outlines here so they can be easily referenced when working on new pilots.  Also thought they might be helpful to other writers out there.

    Enjoy!
